Tablescape Tuesday – Winter Blues?

Today is Tablescape Tuesday, hosted by Susan and her blog Between Naps on the Porch. This week I have a simple winter tablescape in the kitchen….

table

using one of the fairies that Judith at Sweet Designs sent me before Christmas in the centerpiece (Thanks Judith).

centerpiece

Here is a better picture of her……

fairy

I really like the dark blue glass with the clear glass (I am still looking for some cobalt blue stemware/glassware) but I like the little glasses with snowflakes (found at the Dollar Tree for one dollar each!)

place setting

Here is a place setting…..

place 1

When you remove the bowl……. you find a white snowflake on top of the salad plate…..

place 2

And below the salad plate is the dinner plate…..with a large white Styrofoam snowflake used as a placemat (another Dollar Tree item).

place 3

The napkins are white linen and the flatware is what is left of our Oneida Dover set.

I scattered some of the glass crystal shapes used in the centerpiece on the table and put snowflakes under the candlesticks.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting my Tablescape Tuesday and don't forget to visit Susan's blog Between Naps on the Porch to see more wonderful table settings!

I like the fact that you combined the dollar tree items with the beautiful blue dishes. I will be taking my Christmas decor down off my front porch tomorrow and have a snowflake theme until Easter. 22. You & I are on the same page... snowflakes. I didn't show my Breakfast Room snowflake (did the Dinning Room) but, love your look of whimsy. The $ Tree placemats are great. They would clean up so well with the grandkids. Just hate it when they put the spoon from their chili on my fabric placemats. :( Thanks for sharing. Oh, also love your fairy.

  37. LOL LOL...yes I did say "fried baked potatoes" YOU must try them! When we make baked potatoes we ALWAYS make extras..then you refrigerate them & once they are cold you chunk them up & fry them with onion ...YOU WILL LOVE THEM!!!
LOL I am truly quite shocked that you were the only one who caught that.
Try them & let me know what you think! ;)

  38. Susan, We both did snow flake tablesettings. Does that mean we both have great minds (and think alike), or does it mean we are both flakes? Those snowflake glasses from the $ store are so great! And I love your fairy. So pretty. I'm going to go with the great minds think alike. laurie

  39. I was going to do a snow themed tablescape (it's probably all we'll see this year!), but yours is so pretty that I could never do better! Where did you find the white snowflakes (not the placemats)? They are so pretty! They look like doilies. I didn't know the Dollar Tree had anything that pretty. Guess I need to go & take a look!
I'm giving you an award in the next few days. Be sure to come by & pick it up! LOL!
