    Gorgeous kites. It's so neat to see all the unusual shapes and sizes. I remember the old paper kits from when I was a kid. Never see those anymore. Hugs, Marty

    Susan,

    The kites are beautiful but the words to the song in Mary Poppins made my memory fast track back!! My best friend Gigi & I used to swing on the backyard swingset singing that song at the top of our lungs (we were about eight), and somehow it felt so good as the swing soared upward!

    We love Mary Poppins at our house and we love flying kites at the beach every summer. So much more fun than fighting with kites in the midwestern burbs! Trees, light poles, lack of wind some days...you get the picture!

    Susan, Love the Kites....There was an area in Galveston were people went to fly their kites and you could take a lesson in learning to fly those big kites and they could make them to wonderful things. Thanks for the memory.

    I really NEED to be flying that second one--the one on the beach. Our trip is not until July and I am not sure I will last that long. Thanks for a "happy" post--Kites and Mary Poppins-it doesn't get any happier than that :)!

    Kites look so inviting when I see them flying in the air. I've never been able to succesfully fly one. I never got the key points to keeping them up.
