Rain, rain go away…come again some other day! We have had alot of rain the last few weeks….. I am ready to see the sun shine for a few days in a row!
I wish you could smell these pictures… the gardenias and confederate jasmine are two of my favorite blooms!
I have many gardenia bushes scattered throughout my yard….
Look at all the blooms!
The blooms are so pretty….
I have a few different varieties…. but I think many of them are called “August Beauty”……..
The blooms on the confederate jasmine are small…but fragrant!
They are hardy vines in my yard……..
They stay green all year…….

I love Gardenias! Your pics are beautiful. I used to have some jasmine around my backdoor, but they got so big that Hubby cut them down. That is still a sore spot for me. I still haven't let him forget about it.

Susan,
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are so gorgeous, I really enjoyed this tour so much. Please link me up at http://applestonecottage.blogspot.com/ thanks for your effort, what a pain with Mr. Linky and blogging has been slow and difficult as well. Cindy
Omgosh, your gardenias are beautiful!! I had planted a gardenia plant last year but sadly didn't make it. I'd love to try again though. I hope you can tell us your secret as to how to keep them growing. :)

Hi Susan,
ReplyDeleteYour floweres are breathtaking. I have gardenias at my gazebo and I love the fragrence when we are sitting out there. Yours are especially outstanding.
I tried to post my Outdoor Wednesday but it didn't seem to work. Maybe you can have a go.

Hi Susan...I wish I could smell them, too! You guys are a bit ahead of us...my gardenia bush isn't blooming, yet. You have some beauties! Happy Outdoor Wednesday! Susan
ReplyDeleteYour jasmine is beautiful - I adore the way it smells! The gardenia is my other favorite, but I can't keep them alive :(
ReplyDeleteCome by and walk through the garden with me when you get a chance, but bring your umbrella.
Lisa at Another Day Today
I am officially jealous of your gardenias. I have absolutely no luck with them. They will not thrive for me, despite my most earnest research and best efforts. But I can smell 'em a mile away, it seems, so I just follow my nose to someone else's yard for a fix!

Hey Rhoda!
ReplyDeleteMy hubby loves jasmine, but he always goes for the star jasmine. By your blossoms, it appears the confederate jasmine is heartier...maybe I should surprise him and plant some in our yard. The other is not doing well. Also, does it love lots of sun?
I can almost smell them from here!
Blessings...
Susan, I will miss sharing photos with you all this week. It has been raining for over a week in Florida and I haven't been able to get outside to take any pictures. Accckkkk!!
ReplyDeleteYours are surely beautiful!!

Thanks Susan!

ReplyDeleteI am sooo envious of your gardenias. Such lush gardens around my new home, and not one gardenia. Just planted one, don't know if it will bloom this year. Thanks for sharing your great photographs.

ReplyDeleteHi Susan,
ReplyDeleteThe gardenias are gorgeous! I love their scent and I would love to plant some in my yard but worry about my mother's asthma. Maybe if I just put it in the front where she only has to walk past it quickly. We do have the same jasmine in our yard though but here it's called Star Jasmine! The smell in the evening is heavenly.

Gardenias are my very favorite flower in the whole world! We planted a bush by our deck this year, right next to the confederate jasmine - looks like you and I have similar tastes in plants. I love going out there in the late evening to smell the jasmine and have a glass of wine - so relaxing!
ReplyDeleteSide note, but before we got married, my husband knew that gardenias were my favorite flower and tried to order a dozen from the florist to be delivered to my office for Valentine's Day! He called shortly afterward to find out if I knew they were a bush - I said, yes, they're a bush AND a flower. Bless his heart. He's made sure we've had at least one in our garden at every house we've lived in since then.

ReplyDeleteHi Susan,
ReplyDeleteI just noticed that Mr Linky is being stinky. I thought it was just my stinking brain, since I have not posted for a while. I hope it is not too late to join in.
Your gardenias and garden are gorgeous, as usual. I bet the aromas are just wonderful in your garden.
Thanks for sharing!

I just love those gardenias and have only seen them once in my life! How lucky you are to be able to grow them...I bet they smell fantastic. We see jasmine vines as annual plants around here but they are always out of my price range ;) Your southern garden is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteMy outdoor Wednesday post is here...

Your gardenias are so beautiful; I wish I could grow them here but I think I'm too far north. With the gardenias and jasmine, too bad your blog can't feature the scents too! I just imagined the heavenly smells.

Have a great day!

Good Morning,
ReplyDeleteGosh I adore gardenias. How magnificent! The jasmine gives me an awful headache so I can't tolerate it though.
It's been a very challenging week here at MaidenShade. Working through blog issues, thinking of possible posts - and rueing the fact I'm not visiting everyone. Please, don't forget about me; )
Today's post is on some basics of HTML just in case that is something you're interested in. It does come in handy for working in blog posts, webpages, and listings if you have a store.

Thanks for coming by to see my "Outdoor Wednesday". That was my first thought, to tell the hubby to run it over! Then I grabbed the camera, asked him to stop and leaned out the door to capture the shot. I didn't get too close! LOL
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are gorgeous! I am looking forward to my yard looking nice and having something to show. Your Gardina's and Jasmine are exquisite!
ReplyDeleteI tried so hard to get set up and could not figure it out. I posted the logo but it wouldn't link back here. Then I didn't see where to enter my name and even though a number showed at the bottom of the list...
Anyway...I have missed out..so removed the logo on my post so as not to confuse anyone.
Then I noticed your note saying Mr. Linky was not working..
Perhaps next week...just shoot!
I will go visit my neighbors anyway... :)

I am leaving my URL...if that's what it is..just in case. http://wsprsweetlyofcottages.blogspot.com/

Hugs for all you are trying to do for us!!!

I loved this post. My 83 yr old mom's favorite flower is the Gardenia. It made me think of her. Blessings, Celene
ReplyDeleteSusan, these are just gorgeous. Two of my very favorite blooming plants. Gardenias don't do terribly well here, a bit too dry and hot, but I just adore the fragrence. However, I have had great success with confederate jasmine, and the scent is divine. Beautiful post. Thanks for the birthday wishes for Cait! Kathy
ReplyDeleteSusan, Your gardenia's are so perfect they almost look like wax! They're gorgeous! ☺ Diane
ReplyDeleteSusan, I wish I was surrounded by the scent of your gardenias! They are picture perfect too. I hope to join you for Outdoor Wednesdays soon.
ReplyDeleteHello, this is so nice of you to add links manually! I'm sure it's a lot of work. I just added my link to Mr. Linky because I thought he was working but apparently not:) This is my first time here, by way of Design by Gollum. I enjoy your place! Here's my link.
