  1. Susan, looks like I'm an early bird. I would love to participate with you. Here's the link to my post: http://thequintessentialmagpie.blogspot.com/2009/05/blue-monday-outdoor-wednesday-second.html

    Thanks for hosting!

I love your hydrangeas. They remind me of the ones in Mr. Magpie's grandmother's garden. She had some magnficent ones. Have you tried changing their color by putting nails and iron and things in the ground around them? I heard that you can change their colors by doing that. Must be something about the addition of iron in the soil.

    Happy OW...

    XO,

    Sheila :-)

  2. Hi Susan,
I love Hydrangeas. Your Nikko Blue are my favorites. I always have to treat my soil to keep them blue and they turn out pink, blue and purple on the same bush. Very interesting. Happy OW.

  3. Hydrangeas are one of my very favorites. They bloom forever and are great to dry and are just beautiful. There just isn't anything I don't like about them.

I posted about the last days before the robins left the nest. Sorry Mr. Linky isn't cooperating.

  15. Beautiful hydrangeas, Susan!! I have heard that the closer you are to the ocean, the more minerals you have in your soil which helps create the bright blues and pinks, such as yours. Here in the Midwest, we have to amend our soil to get color, so most of our hydrangeas are white. Gorgeous, but white! LOL!!

  25. Hi Susan - Wednesday again! Isn't there some old fashioned method of changing the color of your hydrangea by burying pennies in the soil next to the plant? Changes the pH of the soil, or something??? I forget where I heard/read that...

  101. What a beautiful blog! Our hydrangeas in Knoxville are almost in full bloom. I love this time of year! When I was watering my pots this morning, it was such fun looking at the roses, hydrangeas, and magnolias. My husband planted upside-down tomatoes [his contribution to the gardening] this year, and they have lots of small tomatoes on them. Amazing!

  137. Hi Susan, this morning we didn't have a connection because of bad weather and no power. There was a mud slide in Yellowstone that took out a transformer. The entire town of Gardiner was out of power. We left to drive through the park and just arrived home less than an hour ago. We do have service but it is verrrrry slow. I couldn't come to your post until now.

I do love your beautiful hydrangeas. Especially the blue ones. Flowers are my passion. Flowers make me happy and bring a smile to my face every time.

I did participate today but I just couldn't let you know. Thank you so much for listing my blog.

    Hugs...Jeanne
