3/17 Happy St Patrick’s Day ……

St Patrick's Day

……..and Happy Birthday Grandmom

If my maternal grandmother were still alive, she would have been 106 years old today! She has been gone over 20 years. I thought I would share some old pictures of her…….

My grandmother (on right) with her sister who died in 1918 flu epidemic……

Helen Virginia and Naomi Montgomery

My maternal grandmother’s family about 1915. Front row sitting (left to right) are my great-great grandmother, Virginia, her daughter, my great grandmother,  Emily (Emma), and my great-grandfather George. Montgomery family

And my grandmother when she met my grandfather in the late 1920s….

Naomi Andrew Montgomery

I need to go through more boxes of photos to find later pictures. She did NOT like to have her picture taken (and she was NOT one to have angry at you)…..

Gone, but not forgotten….

  1. Susan,
That was a nice pictorial tribute to your grandmother.

I'm looking for blogs about laundry rooms and I know I've seen quite a few, but can't remember who posted them. Can you remember?

  17. The portrait of your grandmother is so nice--I'll bet she spent time hooked up to one of those old-fashioned permanent wave machines.

I especially enjoyed the pic of your grandmother and her late sister. I'm sure she cherished that picture.

    Have a good week☺

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY TO YOU
YOUR GRANDMOTHER WAS SO VERY BEAUTIFUL...PEACHES 'N CREAM GIRL.
WHAT WOULD BE SO BEAUTIFUL IS TO PLACE HER PHOTO COPIED PICTURE ONTO THAT IRON ON TRANSFER STUFF AND PLACE THAT ON MOIRE SILK WITH BUTTONS AND PEARLS AND RIBBON EMBROIDERY...IT WOULD BE GORGEOUS.

  39. Happy St. Paddy's Day Susan,

My Grandmother's birthday was March 17th also, her name was Anne. Mine was yesterday, and if I would have been born the 17th, I would have been named Patricia Anne, but I couldn't wait. ;) My Father was Italian, so the Irish name didn't go well with the Italian last name, but my Mother would have given me the name anyhow, if I had waited.

    Hugs
