I am going to share a few photos from around town on Memorial Day…..  we need to teach our children and grandchildren that it isn’t a day for shopping or picnicking…. the day should be about the warriors that lost their lives and gave the ultimate sacrifice.

  1. We always take the grands to my MIL's grave and they usually make an arrangement out of flowers from my craft room. They really like going.

  3. Hi Susan,
I agree with you completely about teaching the real reason for the holiday. I can't tell you how often I thought about all of the people having cookouts yesterday and not even thinking about those you gave their lives so we could be free. Great post!

  5. hi Susan, Thank you for such posting your Memorial Day tribute to our service men and women, past and present. On a personal note it brings memories of my Daddy and my husbands Dad, both served in WW11.
    Thanks as always for hosting.

  12. Thank you Susan for hosting the Outdoor Wednesday, but due to our time difference, when i open it in the morning i am already always at the tail end of the list, hahaha! It's good you post this type of awareness posts and photos, or else the young generation will be reminded of the sacrifices of their ancestors.

  21. Love the Memorial Day tribute. We always attend our Memorial Day ceremonies and parades. I want our 4-yr. old son to understand the significance and sacrifice - and not think of it as, "just a day off."
