Rain, Rain, Go Away…Come Again Some Other Day! We have had alot of rain the last few days….so I haven’t been able to get any good pictures for Outdoor Wednesday.
The Flood Warning continues for the Ocmulgee River near Macon until Friday. We had two to four inches of rain on Monday. Flood stage is 18.0 feet….and the river will continue rising to near 20.5 feet early Tuesday morning.(Don’t worry…we don’t live close to the river!!)
You could see the rain coming….
Rain even washed away a road!
And a few trees down on the golf course…
But the rain also brought a beautiful rainbow!

I've seen pictures of flooding in the South..., good that you don't live near that river!
ReplyDeleteVery scary! We were supposed to get that storm, but we just ended up getting a good soaking rain.
ReplyDeletethanks so much for hosting this.
ReplyDeleteSo much damage. So glad you do not live near the river! Love the rainbow!
ReplyDelete~ Tracy
What a weather system it has been. We are about 4 1/2 hours north of Nashville, so most of went south of us. So scary for so many.
ReplyDeleteWOW---that's a mess of a storm. Beautiful cloud shot though.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness we didn't get anything like that in my area of Alabama!
ReplyDeleteThe rainbow is lovely...the promise of God's mercy and faithfulness.
Rhonda
Hi Susan, Sorry about the weather you guys are having back there. I do hope it lets up soon. That is a great shot of the rainbow. Thanks for hosting today...Julian
ReplyDeleteWow, flooding causes some of the worse problems!! The picture of the storm sky is amazing! My daughter is deathly afraid of bad storms for fear of a tornado. I mean some fear is healthy but I think she needs medication! We missed that storm. They cancelled a horse show we were going to but the storm went south.
ReplyDeleteOh My Word! Just horrid weather. Wow the map is drenched in red, like the area it represents..drenched in water and stormy skies. Mother Nature is awesome, the way she throws up that beautiful rainbow across such a gray background. All the better to make the colors of the rainbow pop and be noticed. ;) Wow she can really put some scary displays of her power out there. Hope the weather improves for you all in that area, you have been having some awful stuff!
ReplyDeleteThat is an amazing cloud pic you caught there Susan. And the rainbow, so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI hope all is well with you!
Cindy
Looks like your area has been catching the brunt of it. We had a lot of rain, but nothing severe. Love the cloud and rainbow shots.
ReplyDeleteNot participating in Outdoor Wednesday this week, but do drop by Atticmag and see what we've been up to!

ReplyDeleteYou did a remarkable job on the storm sights. I am afraid we are all in for more than we want this year. The shots of the rain coming down and rainbow are very nice.
ReplyDeleteOh, I thought I was too late to join in with Outdoor Wednesday, maybe not? I hope the weather turns good for you soon!
ReplyDeleteLooks like that was some storm! My favorite part is the rainbow :)

ReplyDeleteThanks for having us again Susan.
Best wishes,
Natasha, Stacey and Holly.
We were spared by a tornado by 2 miles with these storms over the weekend. My heart just breaks for everyone affected by the severe weather. I have linked my first Outdoor Wednesday and hope I did it right!! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYou did a remarkable job on capturing the weather damages. Trust mother nature soon settles down. I really liked the rain and rainbow shots.
ReplyDeleteHi Susan
ReplyDeleteThe south has been having such unusual weather lately..form winter till now. I hope summer will bring more normal conditions.

ReplyDelete~Rainey~
That map is way too colorful for comfort! I'm glad you aren't close to the river and are high and dry. We could use a bit of rain, but one needs to be careful what they wish for. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting.
Wow, that would be scary seeing a road washed away like that!
ReplyDeleteWhat striking photos this week. That sky one is unbelievable! Hope you are cosy, dry and warm. Heck, I hope we all are!
ReplyDeleteThe sky looks scary there! But I love your rainbow.
ReplyDeleteAwful weather...hope it clears up for you soon. Gorgeous rainbow though!
ReplyDeleteHi Susan,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are ok...I'm in Tennessee near Gatlinburg so we just got hours of very hard rain but no flooding. But Nashville is another story...so sad. Mother Nature seems to have quite the attitude lately!
Today is my first Outdoor Wednesday..I'm going to enjoy looking at all the great outdoor stuff.
Have a wonderful day,
Stephanie ♥
Those pictures leave me speechless. I pray for the people from that area.
ReplyDeleteGod Bless!

We had the same types of problems in March. I'm glad it is over and I hope it will soon be over for you. The sunshine is much better.
ReplyDeleteAhhh..those clouds are just stunning. I'm happy to hear that you are far from the waters' edge. One of my good friends is from Macon.
ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting!
Have a blessed Wednesday!
: )

We heard about your floods on the News here in Australia, Susan, so pleased to hear you are not directly involved. Beautiful photos that caught the essence of the unusual conditions!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
Blessings
good thing you are all safe from the storm .nice shot of a rainbow.
ReplyDeleteI can sympathize with you regarding rain. We had a couple of weeks and now just enjoying the sun. Yeh!
ReplyDeleteGreat picture of the rainbow. A couple of weekends ago, we had huge rain systems move through. Glad to hear you are safe! Happy Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteOh my!! Wonderful pics in spite of the terrible weather!
ReplyDeleteWe've only had a little rain here in South Georgia, thank goodness, the flooding I've seen on the news is horrid.
ReplyDeleteThe rainbow is gorgeous though!
Weather conditions and damage are also part of the outdoors so these are very worthy outdoor Wednesday photos. I hope those people with the washed out road have an alternative way out.
ReplyDeleteThe Rainbow photo didn't show up for me.
Thanks for hosting this meme.
Mama BEar
Hey Susan,
ReplyDeleteThat much rain is scary. I actually posted about the flooding in Nashville. Prayers that it won't be nearly so be for your part!

ReplyDeleteHi, I live in GA also.
ReplyDeleteWe have had some rain, but PTL no flooding.
Praying your rain goes away.
Your first photo of the rain coming is amazing!
ReplyDeleteGlad things went well with you.Love the photos. I feel so bad for all the people in TN,KY and AL as well as Ga. Take care and maybe I'll get back in the game soon. Take care. Nancy
ReplyDeleteThe power of nature can be so SCARY! We have had a lot of rain for the past week, but not like that! It hasn't done any damage, thank God, all it did was bring Spring in. For that I am very thankful. Thank you, Susan for hosting this really fun blog party. Hugs, Cindy S
ReplyDeleteSorry you are getting all that rain. We need some here. Want to share?
ReplyDeleteHi Susan, I am new to blogging, hope I did everything correct, but afraid I linked to my blog not my post. I realized it too late. I enjoy your blog, and Outdoor Wednesday is great! Thanks Lisha
ReplyDeleteP.S. Having a time trying to create a link within my post. I have the post title so that it will come back to your blog and have a link on the side also but no link in the body of the post. Any help is appreciated.
Yeah, that weather came through here yesterday! I hope that's the last of it! The rainbow pic is beautiful! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDelete~Holly

ReplyDeletehttp://gemstarlightexpress.blogspot.com/2010/05/hoover-dam-in-nevada-usa.html
Gorgeous rainbow! Keep thinking of that. The rains in the South have been truly awful; my heart breaks for those in the flooding areas. We did live on a river -- and floods are NO FUN.
ReplyDeleteCass
Wow, thats a lot of water! Didn't you have a drought a couple of years ago? Gives new meaning to when it rains it pours! Lovely rainbow though...
ReplyDeleteSG
Hi Susan, that was a terrible storm. I can't believe that road washed out. However, the rainbow is lovely. Remember the drought, thank heaven for the rain.
ReplyDeleteHave a great outdoor day.
Hugs, Jeanne
We're a bit short in the rain department here!
ReplyDeleteWish we could see more rainbows!
Happy OW!
http://fwwalking.blogspot.com/2010/05/outdoor-wednesday-day-at-farm.html
Great photos! The rainbow is so full of hope! Reminds me of the saying "don't tell God how big your storm is, tell the storm how big your God is"
ReplyDeleteTake care!
I'm sorry for the destruction, but your photo of the coming rain is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love your rainbow picture. It's truely amazing to me the power, as well as softness, that comes in the form of weather.
ReplyDeleteoh dear, I hope no cars were at the exact point of breakaway. This happened to a distant relative. The entire family except one little boy got buried. Due to unexplained circumstances, the boy was found at the side of the road crying.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of the rain that we often get in Australia. Thick and fast! Great post:)
ReplyDeleteThanks for having us,
Holly x
