It’s that time of year again….Opening Day for Atlanta Braves baseball….. and my husband and two of the kids were at the game (April 5) …. Atlanta Braves vs Chicago Cubs….sitting out in right field at Turner Field…..

They saw an impressive opening ceremony…..

Travis Tritt sang National Anthem…..

Hank Aaron threw out the first pitch…..

He’s looking pretty good for 76 years old…..

and Bobby Cox had his last opening day as Atlanta Braves manager (sad) …… we will miss him…..

The Braves won 16-5 and everyone got a good look at Jason Heyward who hit a 3 run homerun his first major league at bat. Yes, my family was among the crowd chanting “Let’s go Hey-ward” before he even got up to the plate to bat

  2. My husband watched this game! He was so excited to be able to watch the first game of the season on cable TV here in Australia. One day we would love to see a game over there.

    I love baseball, and what a great day at the ballpark. Fun to see Hank Aaron and nice that they won. You are right, he looks fantastic. I can almost smell the grass from here. There's nothing like the smell of grass on the baseball field.

  17. How exciting for your family! I just love going to baseball games and sitting in the stands. Don't hotdogs taste better at the game than at home? We lost our local team, The Surf, as they were losing money and the owners gave up the franchise. Boo! :(

  25. The boys of summer and how wonderful to see Hank Aaron :) Of course I am a Toronto Blue Jays fan. I saw the Braves here during the World Series back in the 90s - when the Jays won! Whoohoo eh! ;)
