As promised snow pictures from March 1, 2009…. SNOW in Georgia! It started to snow in the afternoon. Doesn’t the flowering plum look pretty?
After a few hours of snow it was starting to lean…..
but looked pretty dusted with snow….
The neighborhood was covered in white….. and the kids built a small snowman……

Hi Susan...love seeing your snow pics! We don't get much of that white stuff in good ole Georgia...do we? Definitely cause for some excitement! I made my run to Publix for bread, milk and toilet paper with the rest of Metro Atlanta. You'd think we were going to be snowed in for weeks! LOL Thanks for hosting Outdoor Wednesday! Susan
ReplyDeleteI absoultly LOVE the white snow over the pink blossoms. What a contrast those two colors make. Not what you wanted when things are begining to bloom but, what great photos it made. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThe pink flowering tree with the snow coming down is "out of this world". I love snow and I love pink.
ReplyDeleteHappy Outdoor Wednesday.
Charlotte

ReplyDeleteYour pictures of snow on the flowering pink plum trees are magnificent. Children must have had a blast building that snowman. Here in Illinois I am hoping to wear my crocs outside soon. Spring is just around the corner.

That is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteA snowy day is always beautiful. I think you folks in the south are getting more snow than us folks up north. It only snowed three times this winter and didn't even last the day. But is sure is cold. No sign of anything sprouting yet.
ReplyDeleteSusan,
ReplyDeleteYour snow photos are beautiful....I wish thesnow would have stick here...but it didn't. It's COLD! North of us got snow... It's great to be back...blogging. Miss ya'll.....Have a great day...Katherinellen
Hi Susan,
ReplyDeleteWow, such wonderful shots of snow, I can smell winter coming here today in Australia, the wind has picked up and we are all looking for our jumpers.
I have a post this week on our old country garden in Robertson where we used to live before moving to where we are now.
Vogue Australia fashion team came and did a winter fashion shoot years ago. It was great fun to have them visit, come and have a look.

Hi Susan,
ReplyDeleteI couldn't find the posty thing last night. Those pics of your flowering plum trees are so pretty. They look like they are dressed up for a wedding with just a soft veil of white! I wish I could still get excited about snow, but that was like 4 months ago for me and I've had my fill. Spring needs to come! thanks for hosting, I love Outdoor Wed. Cindy
Those pictures are beautiful! And priceless since we just don't see much snow here in the ATL! I live just outside Marietta and we got pouring snow for 3 hours then it moved out with nothing left on the ground! My little heart was broken, so I'm thrilled to see your neighborhood covered in the white fluff!
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday

Beautiful pictures Susan. The plum tree in the snow is just fantastic. Thanks for hosting this, it's so much fun! Happy Outdoor Wednesday. Kathy
ReplyDeleteSusan, I tried to comment last night but I couldn't. Computers do some weird things sometimes!!!!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful to be able to capture a flowering plum tree in the snow!!! How often does that happen!?! Great pictures! :D Jewel
Beautiful, Susan! I can't get over the fact that these scenes are in Georgia! And there are friends in Alabama and Mississippi with the same beautiful snow. It didn't make it to Florida (not our part), but I'm really kind of glad. Tropical plants + snow = not a good combo. But I certainly enjoyed seeing your shots of snow!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Sheila :-)
Hi Susan...the first picture looks magical with the snow coming down...It has certainly been a strange winter in the South! ;-) Bo
ReplyDeleteHi Susan,
ReplyDeleteThanks for inviting us all to participate. Hope you don't mind me posting snow pictures of my own to share this week . I just wanted to journal it so I could remember what happened here in the "Blizzard of 2009!" ~smile~
My family was so surprised that it snowed here though - just HAD to show them the evidence.
Your tree pictures are so beautiful! Hope the snow didn't kill all of the flowers on it!
Have a great day today!
Kymber

Susan
ReplyDeleteYour yard is just lovely and the snow photos are really pretty.
Roberta Anne
Look at all that snow! We saw a few flurries early in December but nowadays spring seems to have arrived early. The high today is supposed to be 74! It's amazing.
ReplyDeleteSnow in Georgia, hey? How often does that happen?? It's always so wonderful to watch snow falling from the sky - and it's beautiful in the yard & trees. I so enjoy sitting in my by the fire in our living room and watching the world become white (while I'm nice and warm). But... fantasy over... I'm sooo not a fan of the white stuff lasting longer then a day!! Winter has it's way, though!! :-)

Oh your flowering plum does look beautiful dusted in snow. I hope it doesn't hurt all the fruit and citrus. Our trees are still dormant and waiting for another storm tonight and this weekend.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry I wasn't able to join your party today as this is one I really enjoy so much. I am so glad you are hosting it so I can see everyone's great outdoor posts! It is fun to see what is happening else where!
