Though Helen, GA is only a 70-mile drive from Atlanta, upon arriving there for the annual Oktoberfest, you'd think you had somehow crossed the Atlantic, went over the Alps, and into Bavaria!

Helen's Oktoberfest begins on the second Thursday of September and runs through the first Sunday of November

  2. I hate to say that as close as we are to Helen, and having lived several places in GA, I have never been to Helen. I would love to visit though because I love Germany and would love to enjoy that spirit here. Thanks for hosting!!

    I love these photos!! I've heard of Helen, GA, before; I think some of my relatives have visited there. This looks so charming and, as you said, very Bavarian. I'll have to see if I can get my husband to take me since we can't afford to go to Germany right now.
