We have had some unusual weather lately. A little south of me a severe-thunderstorm swept through dumping large hail. They were under a tornado warning for about 20 minutes, around 3 p.m. on October 25. People in Bonaire and Kathleen reported golf-ball sized hail. There wasn’t any reported damage.

  3. Sooo... I did it backwards. I guess I was mesmerized by the size of the hail. My daughter spoke to one of her friends in that area who shared that they experienced hail. We got a lot of heavy rain and wind - AND lightening! Seems we may be in for one more night with the frogs!

  8. Wow, the hail does look big. It can reallzy do a lot of damage. My old car had little dents all over the hood from hail.

  9. We had heavy rain and light hail, too.
Not nearly as large as THIS hail, tho.
    Thanks, Susan...

  12. We had high winds from last night and continuing all day today, tomorrow and who knows about Thursday. I already know I can see through my old barn much more than I could this morning. Not looking closer until flying debris stops.

  20. Hi Susan,
We always get so excited when it hails around here! I've got pictures and video, like it's such a big deal. Yet I have NEVER EVER seen anything like the hail you had, oh my it is HUGE! I'd heard of golf-ball sized hail but assumed those stories were exaggerations, not truth! Thanks for sharing those pics, glad you didn't have any damage! THanks for hosting us, I'm glad to be back after quite a long time away!

This is a very unusual year for weather. The first rain of the season yesterday and beautiful sun shine today. We have hail sometimes and it is very dangerous. Take care.

  36. Oh my I really do not like hail. A few years ago we had a storm come through here in July. The hail was the size of baseballs. I know that sounds crazy but I am not exaggerating! Our house was right at ground zero. We along with many in our town needed new roofs, new siding, new windows, new cars! The roof at the pharmacy down the road collapsed. It was awful!

    ReplyDelete
  37. WOW! That is a LOT of hail. Hope things were not damaged!

    ReplyDelete
  38. That is some big hail you got there! I wouldn't want to be caught outside in such a storm...
