  18. Oh how I wish I didn't have to travel so far to see colors like that! We visited Southern Illinois last mid-October and I saw my first real fall colors! Being a teacher and in the classroom during these months (all of my life, so it seems), I never got to travel during the fall foliage time. Southern California just doesn't compare!!! These are stunningly beautiful pictures!

  19. Hi Susan,

I not sure what I love more Autumn or Spring. But the best thing is now that I am a blogger is that I get to enjoy both at the same time by popping over to you.

All the Wisteria is out in my town at the moment and I love it so much, come and have a look.

  24. Wow...just WOW!!
Our area doesn't change that much this time of year...we get our Autumn colors around town in WINTER.

But I DO have a photo of 'our area' and then some today, posted! The link I left on the Mr. Linky list is the permalink to Wednesday's post.

  25. Love the colors against the sky! I am a first time visitor and participant. Thanks so much for organizing and running Outdoor Wednesday. It is such a great way to find other bloggers with the same interests!

I can't believe you have so much color already! Usually the color changes start in the North and gradually move South right? Maybe I have that wrong - but here in Western NY , yesterday was the first day I started to see the colors (on the first day of Fall of course?) Hopefully I will have more Fall color shots soon!

  26. We have just a sprinkling of color in Vermont now. It should change soon. That would be an excellent time to join in! Will try.

  27. What wonderful fall photo's, we have nothing like that here in Normandy, thanks for sharing & for being such a gracious hostess.

  31. What beautiful color you have there already! We don't get nearly that kind of display here, it's much more subtle. And this year I doubt we'll have even that with the drought. But we have had 2 days of good, steady rain - yippee! Lake Travis is now only down 31 feet lol. Hope you are having a wonderful week. Kathy (PS - posted my summer reading challenge list - it was fun!)

  32. Beautiful colors in thsoe leaves. Our trees are still green as envy but by the end of the month they should be showing off really nice! Come by and check out my OW photos of the local nursery.

  33. Oh just makes me want to snuggle by the fire with a cup of hot chocolate. Lovely colors on your hills and along the lanes.
Wishing you a warm, cozy day ;-)

  34. Wow, that's really gorgeous! Our color is just getting started here - summer is hanging on a little late this year. (Goody!) Last year it was so dry, all the leaves just turned brown and fell off the trees very early. Very depressing. We're hoping for a better display this year, but we definitely won't get anything like your amazing colors.

  35. Susan, so glad you got the pictures working. They are simply too beatiful to have missed. What a lovely time of the year and your photos are super good.

  36. Hi Susan,
Your pictures are just beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing them with us and thank you for hosting outdoor Wednesday.

I had trouble adding my link last night and see today that I added it 3 times! I'm sorry for the mix up. I guess it takes awhile for the link to show up. I'll know that for next week. Have a great day. Amy

  40. Susan, what magnificent photographs. Our leaves are suddenly changed, it seems to have happened overnight. We still have a way to go though, probably by October 12th the peak of the Fall in New England.

  41. Susan, I just stopped back to say, as I was visiting the first blog on your list in Georgia and she showed the photographs of the flood, how your Outdoor Wednesday is more than just a fun event. It is a way for all of us to peek inside places and learn about what is happening. Up close and personal and much much better than what we learn on the news.

  42. Hello Susan,

Your pictures are beautiful! Such color. Here in Florida, we do not have that much color yet.

I added my link last night (No. 116) and received a visitor but I see today that it not listed so I added it again. Not sure what happened...

I am enjoying my first participation in Outdoor Wednesday and look forward to participating on a regular basis.

Thank you very much for hosting Outdoor Wednesday.

  49. So beautiful, fall. I hate summer ending but it is hard to complain when all those leaves just randomly turn into a picture perfect scene. Your photos are great! My grandmother used to say that mother nature knows the perfect color schemes. She was right!

  50. Stunning fall pictures. I do like it when Mother Nature puts her gaudy clothes on, and goes all out. Can you imagine anyone else wearing all those brilliant colors at once and looking so good?

  51. Susan, the fall pictures are gorgeous. We don't have any colors like that in our area, but we do have beaches! I so enjoyed your pictures and thank you for hosting Outdoor Wednesdays.

  52. Absolutely glorious! I love your north GA mountains...and Helen is such a lovely little community. It's been years since I was there.
Hopefully these colorful leaves will still be around until late October when we head to Alabama.

BTW- My photos were taken this week...temp. has been in the mid 90s. But today, while walking the dogs, I noticed browned leaves on the ground. Hey, that's fall in Central/Coastal FL.

Revel in the colors of the season...and jump in a pile of leaves for me!
