We have had some unusual weather lately. A little south of me a severe-thunderstorm swept through dumping large hail. They were under a tornado warning for about 20 minutes, around 3 p.m. on October 25. People in Bonaire and Kathleen reported golf-ball sized hail. There wasn’t any reported damage.

Sooo... I did it backwards. I guess I was mesmerized by the size of the hail. My daughter spoke to one of her friends in that area who shared that they experienced hail. We got a lot of heavy rain and wind - AND lightening! Seems we may be in for one more night with the frogs!

Wow, the hail does look big. It can reallzy do a lot of damage. My old car had little dents all over the hood from hail.

WOW~! Thankgoodness we just got thunderstorms minus the hail. However this evening, tornados are north. Headed to northern GA later I am certain. "Batten down the hatches!"

ReplyDeleteWe always get so excited when it hails around here! I've got pictures and video, like it's such a big deal. Yet I have NEVER EVER seen anything like the hail you had, oh my it is HUGE! I'd heard of golf-ball sized hail but assumed those stories were exaggerations, not truth! Thanks for sharing those pics, glad you didn't have any damage! Wow! It makes me wonder. I remember one Palm Sunday when it was a beautiful sunny day and then it turned cold and rainy suddenly, hail fell and three tornadoes went through town.

ReplyDeleteWe were part of the Tornado Warnings today. The county alert system even called our house! That was a first. The winds were 90 mph. Luckily no hail and no wind damage. Debbie

Oh my I really do not like hail. A few years ago we had a storm come through here in July. The hail was the size of baseballs. I know that sounds crazy but I am not exaggerating! Our house was right at ground zero. We along with many in our town needed new roofs, new siding, new windows, new cars! The roof at the pharmacy down the road collapsed. It was awful!
