I was out running errands this week and decided to take a few pictures of the landscaping around the mall. I like to see what combinations the landscapers use to get ideas for my own yard. You never know where you might get some inspiration!

Though Helen, GA is only a 70-mile drive from Atlanta, upon arriving there for the annual Oktoberfest, you'd think you had somehow crossed the Atlantic, went over the Alps, and into Bavaria!

Helen's Oktoberfest begins on the second Thursday of September and runs through the first Sunday of November

This past weekend many people observed the remembrance of September 11. 2001.

Locally, there was a memorial for  local resident, Major Cole Hogan who was was killed at the pentagon. He was buried at Arlington National Cemetery. The memorial was here on Sunday.
