The Japanese magnolias are starting to bloom. I wish I had a few trees in in my yard! I say that every year when they bloom because they are beautiful!

I drove by Lowe’s (again) to see what they had out recently. It was hard, but I resisted the urge to get anything because I know we will have more cold weather before Spring is here!

  1. Is the Japanese Tree the same as the Tulip Tree? They look similar to our Tulip Trees which are in bloom...I love them!

  3. Beautiful blooms, the magnolia is gorgeous. I just found some tiny crocus in my yard but none of the trees are blooming here yet.

  4. It's nice to be back, finally, a little green is starting to show in Oregon. Some varieties of Magnolia will grow here but, they certainly are not in bloom. Thank you for sharing your beautiful photos.

  10. Love the magnolia pictures. Here in Zone 6 they are a couple months from blooming. The first tree to bloom here is the Redbud..

  20. Many of the trees are in full bloom here now. Sure hope they hold out as we will get more very cold temps later. I am staying away from Lowe's & HL - to big of a temptation, as it is just to early to plant here.

  27. Wow, magnolias in bloom already. In my yard in Seattle, our magnolia tree is still just sticks. A very late spring this year here. I love your vision of springtime.

    We have 3 Lowe's withing 7 miles in 3 directions...and none of them have flower displays like these. Lucky girl!!!

  36. Hi Susan, beautiful magnolias in pink. I too went by Lowe's and did buy two small pansy plants for my back porch pots. They tolerate the cold so I went for it. I love the flowers in Lowe's.

  37. I wasn't sure what the correct name of those trees was...I call them Pink Magnolias or Tulip Trees...I knew they weren't native.

  43. The tulip magnolias are in bloom here in my region of NC, too, Susan. And they really are beautiful. My daffodils and tulips are also blooming. YAY!!! I am sooo ready for spring to spring! ;)
