Over the last few weeks I have noticed quite a few international visitors to my site….mostly for Outdoor Wednesday (I think)……
I thought it would be nice to “accommodate” my non-English speaking/reading visitors by adding a translator (gadget) to my blog page….. to show them a little “Southern hospitality”.
I thought I would share how I did it in case others wanted to do the same but weren’t sure how to do it.
If you go to Google Translate, you will see this……
And a box will pop up. Paste the HTML you copied from the Google Translate page into the box…….
AND THEN HIT SAVE (don’t forget to save!). Once saved, you can move it where you want it to appear on your page. Easy, huh?

That is a charming gesture Susan . On the other hand I think most people speak English as we learn it at school, at least in our country. Most of us can read it but writing might be more difficult.

I have not had an international come to my blog recently (except for Baptist Missionaries serving abroad), but I have had a few and wondered about having a translator. It would have been nice if they had a translator when I when to their blog. So I know the reverse would be true.

Susan you are one smart cookie girl..Thanks for all your infro on my OUT going mail..but we did everything you said today and its just belong this guy to fix it..I have to call on Monday to have someone else who know more help me..Now I will set up a new Email account just to until I can get help...thanks again..I have had it the past 2 days with these dang machines. ReplyDeleteI put a translator box on a couple days ago, because I noticed how many international visitors come to my site. I have talked about my experience living overseas, which I believe have attracted these guests. I welcome diversity, and know I appreciated someone took the time to help me when I struggled with a language in a foreign land. ~Cathy~

ReplyDeleteI want to add one more thing to my post above. I always write someone who becomes a follower to my blog, to say hello. If they are international I start with WELCOME in their language. It is easy to do a quick search on Google, to see how it is written. ~Cathy~
